Convertible Clothing: Dressing for Winter

Dressing for Winter - Striped Skirt & Red Sweater

A while back, I talked about Convertible Clothing - items you can wear in more than one way. I am a huge fan of finding multiple ways to wear items to get more use out of them. I found myself doing it a lot during the spring/summer but realized I was not taking full advantage of my wardrobe this winter. Besides wearing shorts in winter, I have not really pulled out any summer dresses and found a way to wear them. Seriously...I have tons of dresses in my closet just waiting until the warmer months - why? Just throw on a sweater and some tights and ta-da...winter outfit! Over the weekend, I re-discovered my old Hollister summer dress and had a brand new outfit that I am sure I will wear into spring! Sweet!

Another convertible item that I just discovered this weekend was the Ebb and Flow crop from Lululemon. I call them "convertible" because I can wear them during the day with boots and flats and then switch it up by throwing on a workout tank, socks and sneakers and am instantly gym ready!

Lululemon Ebb & Flow Crops

I have read about these but never actually tried them. I went into my local store to snag up another pair of Inspire crops and found these hanging nearby. I have wanted a pair of navy/dark blue leggings so I figured I would try them on and see. OMG, they are so comfortable. They are a bit see through in the rear area but I really should not be exposing my butt anyway so hopefully no one will notice! Long shirts & sweaters only...unless I'm in Vegas. Kidding! That's a whole other story involving a shirt mishap (read here for your enjoyment and my embarrassment! :)

What are some of your favorite convertible items?

  9. Absolutely love this! How clever. I am definitely not a fan of switching out my summer-winter clothes as I like to wear all of my stuff year round! My best friend is so amazing at envisioning stuff like this, but it takes a little more practice for me. Great post.
