Flashy Fourth

Over the weekend, we went to a Fourth of July BBQ at my Dad's country club. Being the late group, we were left with really cold, blah-tasting BBQ (gross) and mediocre desserts (with the exception of their take on S'mores using dark chocolate ganache & ciabatta toast). The one good thing was I was able to squeeze in an additional patriotic-themed outfit before tomorrow's holiday.

I am usually not one to dress with a holiday-theme - except Halloween, of course - but this year I had so many fun red, white and blue outfits, I sort of had to do it. The one selected for the disgusting BBQ was a take on red, white and blue...except I subbed red for coral. But I think it was close enough...

Kate Spade Liv Purse (old, but loving this one!) // Chloe Wedges

I was really excited to find another excuse to wear my J Crew anchor tank - one of those items that you really can't wear too often because it is such a statement piece. I love it because it is a very pretty piece (navy & white with an anchor) but it's also sequined which gives it that additional pop! 100% classy with a kick, don't you think?

Besides the horrible food, it was nice to spend the evening outside with the family admiring the beautiful grounds and celebrating the fourth a few days early. All that was missing was the fireworks but I think we will see plenty of those tomorrow!

Happy early 4th of July! Hope you all have a great holiday!
